Gobble gobble

Just a quick post to wish everyone a ...

We're in Chicago visiting my mom and stepdad and I'm looking to our eclectic Thanksgiving feast - Italian, Polish and traditional goodies. I had to taste test the Buckeyes my mom made and am proud to say they pass the test. Although I'm a little sad that I have to share them with everyone! ;)

Enjoy the day!

Snowman greetings

Just a quick post today...not much to say about this card except that I just love the little banner Mr. Snowman is holding. I kinda goofed on my coloring and wanted to hide a little bit of his belly so I was inspired to make him hold a greeting to cover my faux pas. I think it turned out adorable if I do say so myself!

Shoebox swap

Here's a simple card I designed for a shoebox swap with some other demonstrators:

The theme was Valentine's Day and I used the Sweet Always designer series paper as my inspiration for the color combo. I was looking at my display board and found another card I had made using color blocks and thought the layout would carry over for this project. Hope you like it! :-)

An award and a project

The very talented Lynn Put , a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, bestowed the Kreativ Blogger Award on me - what an honor! I find so much inspiration at her blog and encourage you to check it out for yourself!

According to the rules:
1. The winner may put the logo on their blog.
2. Put a link to the person who sent you the award.
3. Nominate 5 blogs.
4. Put links to their blogs.
5. Leave a message for your nominees.

So here are five blogs that I love to visit:
Je'Taime
Cards n' Crafts by Ret
Stampin' Pretty
Ramblings of Me
Stamping With Sheryl

And now on to a new project. My awesome upline, Sherrie, hosted a stamping night with her downline and we got to make these adorable holiday shadowbox frames.

It starts with a frame from IKEA (love that place!). We used various papers and chipboard pieces from the Country Living Holiday Collection to customize our project. The sparkly green frame inside will hold a small picture and that ornament dangles from the top of the box. I also used Rub-Ons (20% off this month with a $20 purchase!) to add the sentiment to the front of the frame.
Ta ta, for now! :-)

The big announcement

Thanks to everyone who participated in my inaugural blog candy! I had some comments from folks I haven't heard from before but who visit my blog - it's so exciting to see new people checking out my projects!! And I love hearing people share their grateful feelings. With the commercialism of Christmas already nipping at our heels, it's nice to slow down and truly enjoy the people and things that give us strength to deal with the craziness of everyday life. By far, I am so thankful for my family and try to remember to let them know how much they mean to me. Don't forget to give your loved ones a big hug today, ok?

So, you're probably on pins and needles to find out who won, right? Ok, so maybe the anticipation isn't quite that dramatic, but who doesn't love to win some freebies?! I asked my husband to close his eyes and pick a number out of my hand, not having a clue of what he was actually doing to make it an objective drawing. Please imagine a drum roll please........

Comment #3 was drawn and so the winner is Krissy!!

Blog Candy

Oy vey, what a crazy last couple of weeks! I haven't done much blogging because I'm having camera issues. The flash on my digital camera died not too long ago, so I replaced it but I've been struggling with the new one. It takes great pictures, but apparently when I transfer the pictures, I have to manually turn off the camera (my old one powered down on its own). I ran out the batteries the first day! I replaced the batteries but kept getting errors about them. I'm guessing it has something to do with the cheap-o batteries I bought at the dollar spot at Target. So while I was battling this issue, I tried to use my husband's camera. For some reason, though, it refused to transfer the pictures to my computer!! I now have some decent batteries in my new camera and things seem to be back to normal. So I can post some more of my projects!!

Well, in the spirit of thanksgiving, here's a card I made earlier this week:

And that leads me to my blog candy.....

To celebrate passing 10,000 hits on my blog and to thank all of you for helping me achieve that milestone, I'm offering my very first blog candy. Included is a retired stamp set "Make It Count," an adhesive remover (fabulous little tool!!), a small "Happiness" decor elements in white and a hand stamped post-it note holder. To win, just leave me a comment with something you're grateful for this year. Post your comment by Saturday, November 15th at 10:00 p.m. EST and I'll announce the winner on Sunday. Good luck!

All Wrapped Up

Are you ready for some fabulously cute gift-giving packaging ideas? Well, here we go...

These five projects will be featuring in my "All Wrapped Up" class later this month (11/14 and 11/16 if you're in the Cincinnati area!). All projects are designed around the Frosty Day designer series paper in the Holiday Mini Catalog. The paper has such fun, non-traditional holiday colors (Tangerine Tango, Bashful Blue, Kiwi Kiss and Close to Cocoa).

The gift bag project includes the bag and matching gift card. The small box on the bottom left is the famously-fun pizza box (got the idea and pattern here). The bottle wrap is perfect for giving bottles of wine or dipping oils or infused vinegars and has a little bit of bling that you might not see in the picture. I got that terrific idea from fellow demonstrator, Mary Knabe (thanks Mary!!). The small project on the bottom right is a gift card holder that opens with a pull of the ribbon. And lastly, the snowflake ornament doubles as a gift card holder with a pocket on the back.

So are you sufficiently tempted?! If you're in the Cincinnati area and would like to come make these projects, the cost is only $20 and I have 1 opening left on Friday the 14th at 6:30 p.m. and 5 openings on Sunday the 16th at 1:30 p.m.
